چکیده
Background & Aims: Metabolic syndrome (MetS), a combination of diverse metabolic disorders (hypertension, diabetes mellitus, high triglycerides, increased waist circumference, and low density cholesterol, HDLc), is well known public health problem worldwide, its prevalence increasing dramatically. MetS confirmed great risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Presently, limited information exists about incidence the factors associated with (MetS) in patients epilepsy. We prospectively estimated Methods: recruited 322 participants, 161 epilepsy healthy volunteers all them free any criteria at baseline followed-up one year. New onset cases were defined according to updated National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) Adult Treatment Panel III (ATPIII) criteria. Results: Over 1-year follow-up, we observed 8 incident (7 individuals group 1 individual control group) resulting an annual cumulative rate 2.5%. 9 losses follow up. Patients presented higher developing (RR=7.00, 95% CI: 0.891 – 1.67, p=0.032) than group. Sedentariness was (hazard ratio, HR=6.537, 95%; confidence interval, C.I=1.269-33.685, p value =0.025. Conclusion: Anti-epileptic therapy combined sedentariness increases among Holistic clinical management will significantly contribute prevention.
